Bodger's Guide, page 214, paragraph 2:

When using a handgun in place of a drill, be sure to place a large block of clay or phonebooks or equivalent material on the other side of the piece to be worked on. Do not use frangible ammunition. On anything stronger than plywood, use steeljacketed rounds or armor-piercing if available. It is not recommended to use a handgun in place of a drill on anything tougher than cinderblock.
