This brings to a grand total of four the number of different acceptable versions I have of "Supper's Ready," between the original (1972), the live-with-Gabriel (1973) and the live-with-Collins (1977) versions -- the '08 remaster is significantly altered enough to count as its own creature, I think. It's got a few different vocal takes, a few additional enhancements and distortions, and the cacophony at the end of "Apocalypse in 9/8" is very, very clearly geese....

(Interestingly, of the four versions, I don't even have a favorite, or really a preference. Each is unique in its own rendering, each bringing something different to the table. Which is odd, because typically I get very polarized about different song versions very quickly....)

The song itself is...it's a long story, but suffice it to say it is important to me. It's not "my" song -- not exclusively, at any rate -- but it's about as close as I think I'll get.
