So there's ice cream at the Union, and I've been in the habit of picking up some when they have two-for-one right before closing at 3. One of their flavors, in the purest school spirit, is Purple Pride. I have never been able to resist choosing that as my flavor. Not because it's especially tasty (it's blueberry, apparently, but not so much that I've been able to recognize it as such on my own -- it's a goofy kind of cotton-candy-blueberry taste), but because it reminds me of Tardy the Turtle, and his trenchant observation, "Crayons taste like purple."
I cannot explain this to any of my co-workers. Nor, sadly, can I make his squeak sound anymore; just sound like a '72 Pinto double-clutching.
