Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist died Saturday evening at his home in suburban Virginia, said Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg.

The rest of me is deeply horrified. I'm just glad I live in the Soviet of Washington, where a lot of my personal rights are backed up by state law. Best of luck to the rest of you.

Cox and Forkum (http://www.coxandforkum.com/archives/000659.html) has a good take on this event with their cartoon today.

I too am a little concerned. Bush might cave to those who wish him ill and not appoint someone who can read the Constitution. We need to get away from this mistaken belief that the Constitution is a "living document".
