So, friction applies to the soles of feet and to motorcycles, but not to cars? Interesting physics.

Yeah, apparently I misread -- it's worse than I originally thought. He edited the vehicles' handling configuration and gave each vehicle a negative wheel friction bias. So instead of sliding to a stop, they accelerate. (And all he has to do is shoot a car with a handgun and the car bounces off the building behind it and hits him in the face.)
