Still sick. Still coughing. Not enjoying. But apparently sports are there to remind me that at least my jugular carotid artery's intact, unlike NHL player Richard Zednik, who took a skate to the neck tonight -- shades of Malarchuk indeed. Zednik's had surgery and is stable tonight, though.

This is so weird...yesterday, I was watching the Flyers game and a linesman took a skate to the face. I think he needed something like 80 stitches. One of those amazing 5-on-5 fights broke out immediately after the hip-check that led to the skate-face meeting, so I was a little busy screaming for blood at first to notice that, holy hell, there's actual blood! For this to happen the next day...man. Weird.

Dude...there were injuries yesterday in basketball (a supposedly no-contact sport...hello, that's why there are fouls) where one of the women's basketball team members got a cut on her arm and Michael Beasley had to be gauzed because something inside his mouth was bleeding. I was like good god this is ugly.
