So long and thanks for all the Daleks ~or~ This one goes to Eleven

Like we couldn't see this coming, but still. 'Twas a good run. Adieu, M'seiu Tennant.

My votes for Eleven: Tricky, Julia Sawalha or Howard Hesseman.

Dammit..I manage to get over feeling sad about this and then another LJ friend goes and posts this! ::sigh::

11..you have one hell of an act to follow...

Eep. Sorry. Spent most of the day muttering under my breath, so 'twas news to me. Frowny face.

Bad day in the tech support trenches?

If I weren't filled with Nanoguilt, I'd expound, but...yes. Feh. Saving for later, because I'm sure it's going to get worse.

Also, Howard Hesseman...WKRP in Cinnicinati Howard Hessman?

roflmao!!!

I credit [livejournal.com profile] querldox for pointing out that one of the WKRP episodes was titled "The Doctor's Daughter" and that Fever/Bailey would be a good Doctor/companion dynamic. And who's to say the TARDIS can't be a booth...?

This...is grim news, indeed.

But have they cast Alex Kingston in any of the specials? River Song has to meet Ten for his first time at some point...

That occurred to me, too, but I figured with Moffat being showrunner, the odds of them revisiting that would have to be pretty high.

Even though I knew it couldn't last, this news still makes me sad. Its not like Tennant is dying or anything. When Chris Eccleston left the show I wasn't confident either, but that turned out well. Just have to remain positive.

Balls.

Well, I certainly can't blame the man - he's leaving on a high note, and that's probably the best possible reason. Cripes, David Tennant actually turned the Doctor into a sex symbol. I just recently watched "The Doctor's Daughter" back-to-back with one of the later Sylvester McCoy episodes, from just before the original show was canceled. It boggles the mind.

When I first heard about the show returning c. 2003, I thought Alan Davies would be perfect for the role. Now, Tennant has gone and made it 67816271862519768210976 times cooler, and Johnathan Creek just won't fit the mold anymore.

I suppose I could see Liam Neeson stepping out of the police box...

Ahhh that really sucks. I like him so much. But the last time they switched Doctors I was sad too, and that worked out well...

Stephen Fry?

If he wasnt already making another british icon so much cooler, I would say Daniel Craig would be perfect for The Doctor.
