Well, it was fun while it lasted

Because it bears repeating: bring me the skull of Norv Turner.

Sadly, this is the worst possible outcome of the season -- good enough to keep Turner around, bad enough to be unacceptable. Grrgh. Still, good luck Steelers and all the birdie-teams.

As a Pats fan, I'm happy. No Mannings (I love seeing the incredible overrated Eli do his version of the Manning Face) and the Pats get a better second-round pick with SD keeping out of the Super Bowl.

If only 11-5 had gotten us in over the team that spent all of one week at over .500.

I've seen Easterbrook whimper about revamping the playoff system because teams as lowly as the Cards and Chargers were even allowed to make it into the playoffs, but then, I'm used to his bellyaching about utterly impossible and impractical it would be to have a college football playoff, and it's good to know that in one area he remains utterly, steadfastly wrong.

The Cards and the Bolts at least made it through the wild-card round, though -- so I think the criticism of their inclusion is pretty solidly defused.

Strange, since we all know he doesn't like the Pats. Personally, I assume it's because they're owned by a Jew, but I can never ascribe enough bad motives to Easterbrook.
