I are Sims Sig. This are Sims thread.

It's just such a relief to work on a computer and not have to worry about Parallels, Exchange Server, or Remote Desktop. So I've been unwinding by playing the Sims, and specifically in recreating two families: The Utonium family and the Mythbusters family.

So in the upper-scale place in downtown Pleasantville there's a rich man, Professor, and his three girls: Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. On the other side of town are the five Mythbusters roomies: Jamie, Adam, Grant, Kari and Tori. (Bother: can't make Jamie both bald and beret'd. And the randomly-assigned sleepwear for Kari is, er, frightening.) Turns out that both Professor and Jamie have similar ambitions: home businesses. The Prof, in addition to buying a club downtown, begins making toy robots, Buttercup contributes some daisies, and they start selling them at home. One of the first visitors is, indeed, Jamie Mythbuster, and when I divert my focus for just a second, Professor Utonium is furious with Jamie.

So Utoniums/Mythbusters might just be the new Hatfields/McCoys, if I can just get the damned game to stop crashing on me. My attempts at adding custom music seem to be fatal to the game's execution. I just want to listen to "Supper's Ready" while customizing a family. Amazingly enough, my first attempt to make a custom TV channel worked effortlessly; the Sims will now see "Porkchop Sandwiches" if they watch the cartoon channel. This is as it should be.

Okay, it's 1:30 am. If mistaking a webpage URL for an image URL is the worst thing I do, I'll be happy. So let me try that again:

I love the Utonium family! I totally recognize the girls!

Kate's right about Grant. It looks like you probably used the default Japanese face to start (I love how there are only three recognizably Asian default faces in the CAS screen, grrrrr), which is good. His face does need a touch of shortening up and just a bit of pooching in the lower cheeks. It's hard to tell in that screen whether the eyes are shallow enough.

(In game, it only lets you close up so far, but you just hit the pause at the bottom, then touch the cursor to the top of your screen at drift at the Sim until you get where you want to be.)

The eyes and the nose are the hard part and how we recognize people. I think you have Grant's nose right for sure.

Adam and Jamie look great! Kari looks good, too. I don't immediately recognize Tory; I'd like to see close up if he has "that nose." *g*

These are great, though!

Also, I think you can download a "Roman style" haircut from MTS2 if you want to try something like that for Adam's hair. Then it could be recolored, lightened.

Found it; looks like Adam's due for a makeover. And Grant just might have surgery in his near future. Time to power up some of the more elaborate cheats....

Yeah, Grant doesn't really look like Grant. His face is too long. Dunno if you could make his face more round; the boy is about as circular as you can get.

Adam will appreciate the extra hair. :)

But yes-- these are brilliant.

I've noticed he's been growing it out as of late. I'm not sure I like it, but I figured I'd err on the side of over-shrubbery.
