Not an illusion, but an optical...er, something

Every once in a while an image comes along and just screws up your mind for the rest of the day. Today that image was this one. Safe for work, technically, though very very hard to explain.

But what got me about the picture wasn't the first thing you notice, nor the second, nor probably even the third. But...that. Yes, that.

Yeah - the grass around it - especially in the back - is totally cropped from elsewhere and then smudge/blurred to hide the edges...

I spent a year, among other tasks, editing images for educational software... We were doing projects where the professors planning the content wanted to use photos they took while on vacation... I got very adept at erasing random tourists out of pictures...
