sigma7: Sims (Default)

Bob Kane forgive me

I totally didn't set out with the intention of doing this today. It just...happened, that's all. I'd installed Apartment Life and wanted to play around with non-established families in my 'hood, and I started perusing my custom content and...well, here we go.

All of these resized to be browser-friendly; click to embiggen.

So, yeah. Batman. It's interesting -- the main piece is his face, which attaches the ears, the cowl, and the cape. So first I got this:

Close but not quite.

Better. Yes, he is last name Batman, first name Goddamn.

Logic and mechanical skills turn Batman on (because I couldn't find "uses a whip" or "uses golden lasso" in there anywhere). Beards turn Batman off, and this might actually be canon.

I imagine this being taken at Sears.

Of course, the "Batman family" has been used quite a bit to refer to Batman's enormous supporting cast -- Robin (any of the four), Batgirl, Oracle, the original Batwoman, Jim Gordon...the list unwinds through the DCU. But me, I just want to work with the one for the meantime.

Of course he's got a million Simoleons. His parents are dead.

I know, stately Wayne Manor it's not, but...well, it was the best in the neighborhood. Must see if there's something properly stately for download....

I've been in town for five minutes and I'm...birdwatching for cockatoos, apparently. (Just occurred to me: how great is it going to be when winter falls and the penguin comes to town?) Also note his belt has lost its texture and has defaulted into seizure-inducing flashing blue.

A peek inside non-stately Wayne Manor. Downstairs is pretty dull. The upstairs bedroom has a pair of secret bookshelf doors leading to it. Can't wait to try those out.

Goddamn Batman spends a moment checking himself out in the mirror, fixing his belt texture.

Batman looking for a job. Ideally I would've liked to get "law enforcement" as an option, just for the possibility of becoming Captain Hero. His wants? Adventure, intelligence agent, and scientist. All perfectly Batmanesque.

Unacceptable. Goddamn Batman has no time for your games.

Well, you've got to start somewhere. Goddamn Batman is now a test subject.

Incidentally, I love that giving his first name "Goddamn" makes the computer sound slightly awed of you at every occasion.

A moment of reading time before getting pushed out the door to work.

Note: canon Batman has never been this happy.

Michael Keaton: "I've got to go to work."

"What are you, dense? Are...no, you know what, never mind. Just...drive."

Passerby Cliff Dover sees Goddamn return from work.

It's moments like this when a secret identity would certainly make more sense.

Yes, hello, your friendly neighborhood Batman, here.

Yep, that's Batman, all right. And he wants to...what?

Skip rope. Yes.

Wow, skipping this rope makes me feel...mighty.

Dude, I forgot to hire a maid.

And an Alfred. Where is my mind?

Batman wanted a robot station. I foresee a mechanical Robin in the near future. Batman fears using a public toilet. This might also be canon.

And there, right there, is the winner: Batman's lifelong ambition is to become a world-class ballet dancer.

Hrm. Maybe Goddamn Batman needs some friends.... (Oh, yes, there will be more.)

Brilliance.

[identity profile] ronwe.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah this post made me want to play the sims again... Damn you...

How many expansion packs are there now? I need to figure out how many more I need to get my hands on ><

[identity profile] sigma7.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Eight expansion packs, nine stuff packs, if my counting is correct. And I don't know if any more are on the way -- I'd expect at most one more stuff pack before Sims 3 launches....

[identity profile] robing.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
8? 9?!?! *sigh*

First a friend at work is trying to get me back into MMORPGs, and now..this. Hm. This is more tempting, I think.

Way too many.

[identity profile] lacrimaeveneris.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Please, please keep posting these. With commentary. Because this may have been one of the few things to make me laugh today. :)

You've been MGK'ed (http://mightygodking.com/index.php/2008/09/07/this/).

Also hay sup.

Genius.

[identity profile] sigma7.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oh hai! I hadn't scrolled down to that point on my f-list yet. That was awesome.

[identity profile] autobotsrollout.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just shocked that I am now a verb or something.

[identity profile] foxhack.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
You can do anything. That's why you're a verb.

[identity profile] beagle1971.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
How did you get the screenshots?

[identity profile] sigma7.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
That'd be Fraps. It's robust to capture video from Crysis with minimal overhead, so I'm impressed. Not free, but cheap.

[identity profile] robing.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
More, please.

This is what I love about the Sims--the absurdity of juxtaposition.

Batman, ballet dancer. This is awesome!

[identity profile] endersgame3.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
hahahha! this has made my day :)

[identity profile] silmaril.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Here from [livejournal.com profile] theweaselking; thanks for the laughs. Were necessary.

[identity profile] laridian.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously, as a young boy, Batman really wanted to be a ballet dancer. His parents' DEAAAAAAATHS caused him to set this aside for a long time. But now that long-dormant desire is back! He will be a world-class ballet dancer! He should have the athletics skill, honestly.

[identity profile] mirablu.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
This was excellent.
But Batman's house is the same as the first house my youngest brother used for his sims, so in every screenshot I half expect to see some sim named "Wacky Wiggler".
I doubt Batman would approve.

[identity profile] sigma7.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I don't know. He might have to adopt a sidekick at some stage. Though I'm afraid the name "Wacky Wiggler" as a sidekick would raise more than a few eyebrows....

[identity profile] redqueenofevil.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That was friggin hilarious! I didn't click last night, because I thought it was the Christian Bale skit, but after meetings today, I needed a laugh. So glad I did click.

[identity profile] l-c-h-a-n.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Batman fears using a public toilet. This might also be canon.

Congratulations. Spilled water all down my front.

Have you thought about creating Batman as a child and then killing his parents? That could be good fun.

[identity profile] spectralbovine.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Haaaaa ha ha ha. Thank you for the laugh.

[identity profile] dornbeast.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Batman's lifelong ambition is to become a world-class ballet dancer.

Ballet shall learn the power of the Bat-tusi!

omgBRILLIANT!

*falls over in giggles over the fact that Goddamn Batman has a skullarific box*

Ahahahaha. This was brilliant.

I lost it at the skipping rope. Holy crap. Thanks so much for the laughs!

Awesome. Well and truly awesome. I laughed out loud at the computer prompts sounding awed. :D
