So the 50-year anniversary of the Brown v. Topeka Board of Education decision nears, and the capital city's cleaning up as best it can. Jesse Jackson will be in town Sunday, and on Monday both John Kerry and George W. Bush swing into town. It will be utter mayhem, I'm sure, and I thank God I have Mondays off. Monday is "get the pigs' wings clipped" day, and it's going to be the first time we try taking them both in at the same time. It can't be any worse on Tiny than taking Moosie in alone and leaving Tiny to scream his little head off. Tiny doesn't like that at all.

The great thing about commemorating the Brown v. Board anniversary is it comes on the heels of a judge saying that since the state legislature was more concerned about gay marriage than passing a school funding bill to replace the current, unconstitutional system that Kansas should stop funding and thus close public schools come June 30. Nobody really thinks that will happen, but the next appeal is set for October, and there's no sign of a special session before summer, so something's gotta give. Best part is the snippy attitude some Republicans are taking toward this upstart "activist judge," which is exactly what the opponents of segregation would've said if they'd thought of it in 1954. Constitution? Bah!

Still! Coughing! Made an entirely new wheezing sound at work. Sounded like a dying vacuum. Pretty cool.

Played "Rise of Nations" off and on during sickness. Finally conquered the world. I picked "random nation" mode and got dubbed the Nubians. Uhm, okay. Maybe I'll try again as the Brits. Or maybe the Mongols. The whole "horde" aspect is enticing.

Saw screenshots for GTA: San Andreas. One word: bicycles. Hm. And it'll be set in the early 90's, which is perfect. Can't wait.

And sorry I had to go so soon, [livejournal.com profile] beckform, I do suck -- work called. But we must set crab versus pipe soon and see who wins, yes? Yes.
