I've been more than a little worried about the newest addition to the home. He's got the sniffles and he's been a little hesitant to eat. I took him out and put some millet on my lap and the little monster went to town, eating more or less non-stop for about fifteen minutes. I tried to put him and the food back in the cage and he just climbed to where my hand was holding onto the cage and camped there. So, being the old softie I am, I relented and opened the door to take him out and he leapt from the open cage onto my shoulder, where he still is, all poofy and cuddly.

Still, the sniffles are worrisome, so I'm taking Muffin in to see the doc at 11 tomorrow morning. This gives me some time to work on the TinyMoo.com page with the Muffin. And maybe he can give me some tips on Evil Genius. Of course, now that my lair has sentry guns, life is much easier. If only the city commission would let me put them up in real life....
I know I'm the last person left who hasn't mentioned this yet, but rest in peace, Christopher Reeve. Whenever I see a word balloon hovering over Kal-El, it's still his voice I hear.

In other news, '96 National League MVP Ken Caminiti died yesterday, aged 41. After leaving baseball he revealed his MVP season was, indeed, steroid-fueled, and then ran into legal trouble for drug use. He was in court last week admitting to parole violations by way of testing positive for cocaine.

Interesting men, both with very visible careers that ended and left them to continue in less-than-desirable circumstances.... Hrm. Tempting to draw more of a parallel, but I think I'll just leave it at that. I'm hungry.

Muffin won't stay put in his cage, keeps climbing up to see Daddy. He's now camped out on the juncture of my left shoulder and neck, making his contented "chewing on rocks" sound.
