A continuously-generated LJ-generated comic strip. Uhm. Okay. Warning: sucks your bandwidth dry.

Yesterday started infuriatingly and ended wonderfully -- had a very charming dinner with the delightful [livejournal.com profile] beeform and the wondrous [livejournal.com profile] erica_roo (love the hair!). We watched a horse gallop. We spoke of friends facing great peril and shared friends we never knew we had. We were warned in hushed, serious tones of impending mayonnaise. Food was eaten, peanuts were chomped, bread was lopped into chunks. And we reintroduced Muffin to Tiny and Moosie. Tiny has done a complete 180 and is now apparently infatuated with the Muffin, as he keeps walking toward Muffin with wings open and singing a little song. Muffin generally backs away or tries to pursue Moosie, who is currently...confused by it all and weary from his trip to the vet for a trim and a pedicure. Busy day.

House is continuing to delight me. As long as FOX keeps screwing with Arrested Development, House is my retreat from the world.

Interesting online weekend. Got metaquoted, which was flattering. And as soon as I discovered that there's a [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes-for-icons community called [livejournal.com profile] userpicks and joined it, intrigued, I see that I'd been, uhm...userpicked? Very flattering. [livejournal.com profile] popehippo, you feed my ego, ravenous beast that it is....

Still tired. Canna wait t'nap.

Anybody who wants Episode III spoiled for them, proceed. Beware: "image-intensive" doesn't begin to cover it. Tons of pics.

Let me just say, though, that when you saw Attack of the Clones the first time, you had a pretty good idea of exactly how this movie was going to unfold, and there's really no surprises or deviations based on this info. Which is just sad. Of course, the plots in Shakespeare's time were widely known, so maybe it's the delivery that will...no, no, I can't do it, sorry. My faith has expired, George, sorry. I think we're both just mailing it in now.

Barry Bonds makes me feel bad.

He called reporters liars, and pointed to problems in the world he considers much more important than steroids, such as alcoholism and drug abuse. Bonds was entertaining as usual. Asked directly whether he'd ever used illegal substances, he said: "I'm not a child. You repeat those things to children and then eventually they tell you. I don't."

I feel bad at his naked lack of respect and responsibility. I feel bad that he taints an already sickened game with an undeserved sense of self-importance and martyrdom. I feel bad that one of America's largest sports is now infected by a man who can't parse the word "sportsmanship" to save his own life.

"You guys are like re-running stories," Bonds said to more than 100 reporters in attendance. "This is old stuff. It's like watching 'Sanford and Son.' It's almost comical, basically. ... Are you guys jealous, upset, disappointed, what?"

I feel bad that so much attention and time is wasted on Barry Bonds. I feel bad that he takes so much effort to be a simply cretinous, wretched human being. I feel bad that he wastes calories, oxygen and resources that could be better used donated to ocean-dwelling mollusks. I feel bad that anyone on this planet holds him to any degree of esteem.

"I don't know what cheating is," he said. "I don't believe steroids can help your eye-hand coordination, technically hit a baseball. I just don't believe it. That's my opinion." Bonds said the key to his continued success and strength, even in the later years of his career, has been "hard work, that's about it." ... "All of you guys have lied," he said. "Should you have an asterisk behind your name?"

I feel bad that, someday in the far-off future, Barry Bonds will finally die, and I'm not going to feel the slightest bit bad.
"Proof that using the They Fight Crime! generator with Roddenberry-flavoured napkins isn't always as brilliant as it seems." Originally here. Metaquoted here.
