The Vampire Slayer Act of 2006 has been approved by the California Assembly. AB1970, a bill proposed by Assemblyman Lloyd Levine, would force companies to put labels on devices that tell consumers how much energy is being used while the device is in standby mode.

I just hope Trevor escapes unscathed.

Hysterical in a completely different way: An artist's sculpture has been rejected by the Royal Academy of Arts which has instead opted to display the wooden support it was put on.

Several campus computers have been infected by Breplibot and consequently taken off the network. Apparently the method of infection is via executable e-mail attachments. I don't think I have to lecture my f-list about the inherent dangers of executing attachments, but it seems at least half a dozen people on campus could stand a refresher course.

And yes, it uses technology derived from Sony's rootkit to mask its presence, so give Sony a thank-you note, if you're so inclined.
