The online version of the Kansas State Collegian has become...I don't know what to call it anymore. "Embarrassment" doesn't encompass its awfulness. I was hoping that in moving to College Publisher, the online production would worry less about those ever-challenging aspects of online production (like HTML) and be able to concentrate on just getting a newspaper online. But Jesus.
Today there are two stories on the front page, neither of which can be called "news" -- your headlines are "Students must exercise caution when driving in winter weather" (which is also the subhead) and "Citizens can work to better society by admitting fault, taking responsibility" -- which is a goddamn opinion piece, no less. And that's all. No graphics (though yesterday's front-page graphic was a blown-up thumbnail with a terminal case of the jaggies) at all. It's pretty obvious nobody involved with the online production gives half a shit, which is a shame, considering how much work goes into the dead tree edition.
I don't know what y'all're paying the online guy(s), but it's too much.
