Best known for Understanding Comics (1993), Reinventing Comics (2000), and Making Comics, Scott McCloud is one of the foremost experts on the medium of comics. Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau has said that after reading Understanding Comics, "most readers will find it difficult to look at comics in quite the same way ever again." Alan Moore (Watchmen) calls the book "quite simply the best analysis of the medium that I have ever encountered." And Neil Gaiman (The Sandman series) says, "If you read, write, teach or draw comics; if you want to; or if you simply want to watch a master explainer at work, you must read this book." Following the success of Understanding Comics and Reinventing Comics, McCloud has become much in demand as a public speaker, giving visual lectures at venues as diverse as Harvard University, M.I.T., I.B.M., the Smithsonian, Microsoft, and Pixar.

For the past year, McCloud and his family have been visiting all 50 states (and a few countries) to promote his latest book, Making Comics. His talk at Kansas State Univeristy is your chance to see him!

Whoa. Suddenly an event worth braving the presence of the English department for.
