A 15-year-old girl with a peanut allergy has died after being kissed by her boyfriend following his snack of peanut butter.

Christina Desforges died last week a few days after receiving the kiss.

The teenager, who lived in Saguenay, about 155 miles (250 kilometers) north of Quebec City, received a shot of Adrenalin immediately after being kissed but did not recover.

No, sometimes, you just don't feel like a nut (I'm so sorry).

On the upside, if anyone ever asks him why he's never eating peanut butter again, he has one hell of a story to tell them.

Actually, I'm not sure whether the kid will have been more traumatized by the event or by the media attention that followed it. I'm not usually a proponent of telling fibs about how or why a person died. But I'd be willing to bend the rules for some poor teenage kid who did nothing wrong. Why not simply report that she died of a peanut allergy? Why point fingers at the boyfriend?

Seriously. Poor guy. :(

I think the hook of the story was to demonstrate how sensitive a food allergy, particularly to peanuts, can be. Forget about actually eating them; just a little indirect contact can be fatal.
