Gah. Router has officially graduated from "occasionally inexplicably flaky" to "irredeemable yet still somehow functioning." It's still routing, still handling wireless. But it won't upgrade the firmware, won't restore the previously saved configurations...so while everything may appear operational, maybe it's not working, somewhere deep in its routy gutmeats.

Any recommendations for a new router?

And hooray and pre-emptive birfday for [livejournal.com profile] erica_roo and her new hair!

My condolences.

Computers suck. I found a website that claims to be able to help you choose the best one for your needs; http://compnetworking.about.com/library/advisor/blrouteradvisor.htm

Worth a shot, at least it's free.

My d-link wireless router has held up fairly well for the past several years.. wow, actually we got it when I was either a freshman or sophomore in high school, so I guess it really has been several years. The firmware is kind of buggy, though.
