Seriously, unless someone has killed someone you know, or said mean things about you personally, it's best to keep them on your friends list at all times. If you started discriminating, you might be known as the person with only 34 LiveJournal friends, and everyone will know the truth about you.

I reject friends based on three criteria:

1) They never post anyway (there's a few like that, they just want a login to post on places that disable anonymous posts).
2) They post frothing political stuff way too often.
3) They only ever post blemes I'm already getting from half my flist.
