The good: I'm consistenly impressed by each episode of Battlestar Galactica. It manages to provoke, amuse and entertain each time out of the gate. And I'm never quite sure what to expect.
The bad: Its current storyline is probably only emotionally tolerable in one-hour chunks -- the two-hour premiere was a bit draining and dreary, even for a show where the human race always dangles by a thread.
The awesome: Any episode where I feel empathy for Baltar has really pulled something off. And the disclaimers were certainly warranted...whereas the original series was very much a kids' show, this one is getting outright sadistic (poor Kara -- Tigh got off easy in the torture department compared to her). Loved the production company logo at the end, was very appropriate.
Very well-done, if emotionally draining. I like this show.
