sigma7: Sims (Baltar)

Whoa. I tried to websurf and watch Galactica at the same time and I couldn't do it. Might be my new favorite episode of my favorite show.

It also made me regress a hundred or so IQ points, because I caught myself saying "Oh, hell yeah" to the television. And I feel exhausted. I'm glad it's on Fridays.

And I've decided not to go as Baltar for Halloween. Not enough hair anymore. Going to plan B instead, which will only require one accessory....

I was out last night so I bought it off iTunes today and eeee! and awww and DAMN.

Lady MacTigh. Sniffle.

... I go rewatch the atmosphere-y thing again now.

Yeah, definitely a good episode. I mean, I knew Pegasus would show up to save the day, but I still cheered when it did. And even though it should have been completely obvious (the show *is* called Battlestar Galactica, after all), I didn't see them blowing the thing up.

Good ridding to Ellen. Tigh finally does something right. Things don't look good for Jammer, however. Curious to see where they go with Baltar now that he's separated from the rest of humanity. Not sure if that'll help him or hurt him in his efforts (?) of becoming a better person. I was glad Gaeda made it, since I didn't think he was going to get out of that office.

If you're Baltar, does that mean [livejournal.com profile] beeform is going to be Crazy Six?

You see, just like the original series, I was waiting for Pegasus to get blown apart during every battle, anticipating it to go down in a blaze o'glory, just like Lloyd Bridges's ship...and eventually it did, awesomely, taking out two basestars in the process.

And wow, the Ellen scene -- I'm taken with the idea that she knew the drink was poisoned, because really, how could she not know?

And it looks like the collaborators are being dealt with next episode, so that should be...interesting....

You know, I'm ashamed to admit I was one of those who originally derided the idea of this (mini-)series, thinking if you were going to reinvent so much of the show's backstory, why call it Battlestar Galactica anyway? I was so wrong -- so very, very wrong.

Yeah, I hope everyone aboard Galactica was briefed, because I'd hate for them to get that thought like I had: "Turbulence? What in the hell is...oh. My. God."

I'm glad things are kinda back to normal, because there's no way in hell they're keeping up that kind of pace for the rest of the season. Been a long time since TV got this level of response outta me.

If you aren't doing so already, listen to Ron Moore's podcasts. In this latest one, during the battlestar freefall and ftl jump, he opines about their chances for an Emmy. "We'd better win the fracking Emmy for this one." (OK, he didn't say fracking, but you get the idea.)
