LAWRENCE -- One person was killed and another critically injured in an accident involving a bus carrying Kansas State University fans to Saturday's game at the University of Kansas, police said.
The one-vehicle accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. less than two miles from Memorial Stadium. Few details were available by late afternoon, and police would not identify the dead and injured except to say both were male.
Lawrence police Sgt. Paul Fellers confirmed that both were passengers on the "Cat Tracker," a retrofitted school bus that takes Wildcat fans to games but is not affiliated with the university.
The injured fan was taken to a Kansas City-area hospital, where he is in critical condition, Fellers said.
Okay, I'm going to go play Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Lego Star Wars II and hope this day just blows by. (If the rest of M:UA is a third as good as the opening cinematic, it's time well spent.)
