From Regret the Error: The Year in Media Errors and Corrections. The Cap-J puts in an appearance: A recipe on Wednesday’s Flavor page called for uncooked eggs, but it didn’t contain a warning that uncooked eggs can be a source of salmonella poisoning. To alleviate the possibility of food poisoning, use pasteurized eggs in place of the raw eggs, or cook the egg mixture into a custard to 160 degrees before freezing it. Not as good as a student paper noting that a Supreme Court justice shot a pope (further down the page), but beautiful in its own way.

Also don't miss the year in plagiarism. Note that I'm trained in fiction, not journalism, though the fields seem to be converging.
