It's official this time: The CW network canceled the cult hit "Veronica Mars" and will try to pick up steam in its second year with series about the snobby rich, transplanted families and a bounty hunter for the devil.

The network, created out of the ashes of the former WB and UPN, had already ended the long-running family dramas "7th Heaven" and "Gilmore Girls." On Thursday the ax fell on "Veronica Mars," which starred Kristen Bell as a wisecracking teenage private eye.

...In midseason, the CW will bring on a reality show, "Farmer Wants a Wife," about a country guy choosing among 10 women fed up with big-city prospects.

Wow. I, for one, can't wait for midseason. Sounds spellbinding.

Yup. Looks like I'll go from one hour of watching the CW to ignoring it completely. Actually, almost all of the new offerings next year from everyone look like drek so far.

Noooo! I just got into it! *pout* TV execs have got cabbage halves where there brains should be. The proof? "Farmer Wants a Wife." I can't wait till next season, where there will be a show about a woman trying to choose the best laundry detergent for her family, perhaps, or a heartwarming dramedy about nymphomaniacs who find God. I'm obviously going to be reading more books in the future.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

How much money would we need to hire all the actors and the writers and the crew to keep making it just for us? I'm willing to compromise on me playing Veronica Mars instead of Kirsten Bell - just to save money of course.

Oh, we could pull it off. And you could do a great Kristen Bell, I'm sure. Hell, if there can be a Star Trek web-revival, surely we can pull off Veronica Mars. We'll waste less time with special effects, for one....
