You know, MightyGodKing took apart the oh-so-enthusiastic and trying-a-bit-too-hard-to-be-A-Writer reviewer of Battlestar Galactica on TWOP, Jacob. And I thought MGK was dead-on, but if he erred at all, it was on the side of maybe being a touch too harsh.

And then I just open the link to the recap of the new episode -- which was uncharacteristically late, even by TWOP's most lenient standards -- and it's 26 goddamn pages long. For a one-hour episode. Razor was that long, and it was a two-hour movie.

For the love of the Cylon Baby Jesus (™/© [livejournal.com profile] norabombay), an editor, please. Until then I'll idly thumb through something a bit more concise, like tax code.

Aw, I thought this was about me! For some reason, I all but gave up on TWOP; they just all seemed to get a bit too long for me, though they're still nice when I miss an ep.

No, you're far too concise. You couldn't approach TWOP-Jacob's levels of pretentiousness and blather if you tried; you have a soul. I think your appreciation for what words are and what they can do would keep you from beating people to death with them.

The minute you think that it's all about you, the writer, then you're finished. More than a few TWOPers have fallen victim to their own ego. (Compare/contrast to "M.Giant"'s four-page "weecap" of the latest episode of The Office. He checked his baggage at the door.)

And incidentally, this may have been the week where BSG stopped being more depressing than The Office. Yes, even with the Roslin hair scene.

Wait, what happened to the three-paragraph weecaps? Those are what I really liked on TWOP. If the weecap is 4 pages, no wonder the recaps are 20-something.

I thought the Office was hilarious, if only for Pam's glee when Dwight shows up. Of course, I'm at work now, so who knows when I'll see BSG this week.

I'm going to need to move my lunch hour up to 11 our time; my attempts to catch the webcast were met with furious frustration. I only caught a few moments, but...let's just say it's a good Baltar episode.

I'd forgotten about TWOP, which I think I learned about from you, but rediscovered it during season 3 of BSG. I too couldn't believe the length of that review. I started it, but when I got to the bottom and saw links for 26 more pages, I gave up.

Didn't get to see last night's episode, but will watch it on TiVo today.
