Yeah, and the terrorists want Kerry to win because they know he will cut and run.
I cannot fathom why this election is even close. The existence of our country is at stake and we have two clear choices. We have Bush who wants to kill terrorists over there and not here and we have Kerry who wants it to return to being just a nuisance and treat it like a police action. We have Bush who wants to defend America and we have Kerry who wants to ask the UN for permission. We have Bush who has Britain, Australia, Poland, etc. on board to fight the evil that wants to destroy the West and we have Kerry who says we are going at it solo because France is not on board. We have Kerry who wants to be a jobs president, an education president, an environment president before he is a war president, when we are at war. We have Kerry who spat on the troops in the 1970s when he returned from 'Nam and we have Kerry who impugns the troops today by lying about the missing 380 tons of explosives.
Sure Bush isn't perfect. He increased education spending with No Child Left Behind instead of shutting down that wasteful department. He created the Homeland Security department. He caved on making Thousands Stand Around government employees instead of letting market forces get the best security. He signed that terrible medical program. However, we are at war with radical Islam and Bush understands that, Kerry hasn't shown signs that he does. Bush wants to defend America and fight the thugs over there before they come back here. Bill in DC has a good entry (http://www.indcjournal.com/archives/001221.php) relating to this.
Why haven't the Democrats ran a candidate with a strong stand on national defense since John F. Kennedy? Why did the only reasonable Democrat candidate, Joe Lieberman, get little support in the primaries? Why is this election even close? Why is a traitor who met and coordinated with the North Vietnamese while American kids were getting killed and wounded by those same North Vietnamese a candidate for the president of the United States? Why do I see so many Kerry bumper stickers on a military base? (Because civilians out number military 2 to 1) I take some solace in reading today that FDR won in 1944 25.6M to 22M. Maybe that is how we are?
"We are forming this Goth Republican Band to help elect George Bush to continue the sadness. His actions facilitate our morbid fascination and the beauty of enduring pain. Many people lead unhappy lives and that is sad. Bush will continue the sadness. He knows that gentle people are excellent for spanking. His foreign policy is the best, he spanks the world and the unseen one knows it deserves it, so beautifully dirty, grimy and perverse."
Sorry. I should have put my name at the bottom. I don't have a LiveJournal account, so I have to go the anonymous route. Maybe I should get an account just to post.
Didn't mean to flame, but vent. As Tuesday draws near and things remain close I worry. Hell, the Democrats didn't even wait until election day to start filing lawsuits in Florida.
And for the occassion, I'll actually have all of my players active this week.
I know how you feel. I can't even listen to NPR this week without asking "So where is the 'Paid for by the Kerry campaign' announcement? Don't they have to do that?"
I love NPR, but sometimes they're not much better than Fox, just less overt.
