Okay, so I said I didn't want anything for Christmas. This wasn't entirely accurate. I wanted a new pair of shoes. My everyday footwear was a pair I'd bought to play softball in years and years ago and were finally at the point that I had to ball up my feet to keep them on. Bee and I got a new pair, and you know, it's funny how much better a good pair of shoes makes a bloke feel.

And while I didn't want anything else, really, I failed to realize there are things I can always have more of. Food, for example, chocolate particularly. And Lego. Oddly enough, everyone -- family, coworkers, friends -- all realized the Lego angle. Am I that transparent?

Right now Buckeyes lead Wildcats 28-14, and I feel guilty for rooting against the purple for the first time in my existence. I'll get over it.

Moosie demonstrated unparalleled leaping ability by jumping into a (my) bowl of pasta alfredo yesterday. My first thought was to save Moosie, as I'd followed the sad stories of Skittles the cockatiel (scroll down), who was hurt flying into a pot of boiling water and died a few days later. Moosie was just fine -- better than fine, even, hopping merrily around in food. Silly little pig.
