Well, despite the best efforts of Philip "Crisco-palms" Rivers and Norv "Shortbus" Turner, the Bolts actually pulled out a win last night. The MVP of the game? Antonio Cromartie had three interceptions, Peyton Manning completed six of his passes to the Chargers (though one is not his fault and is entirely because the laws of physics and anatomy just didn't apply to Cromartie for a few seconds), and Adam Vinatieri was briefly possessed by the spirit of Lin "Wide-Right" Elliot (Adam, at 29 yards you could be sitting on the crossbar and not get any closer).
But no, the star of the game has to be five-foot-six Darren Sproles, K-State grad, pint-size powerhouse who took back not only the opening kick for a touchdown, but also a first-quarter punt, on a return where he wasn't touched by anyone except Hunter the Punter on the one-yard line. Yes, awaken, world, to what we've known for a long time -- he's sawed off, but he's a hell of a runner.
And it's for the fastest powder-blue-clad member of the Lollipop Guild that tonight's picspam goes out. Critter-heavy? Critter-saturated. It's all about the scamper.
