Authorities found a healthy, day-old baby girl in Kansas that they are hopeful is the same infant taken from her mother's womb Thursday after the woman was killed in Skidmore, Missouri.
The baby is in a hospital being checked by a pediatrician, said Sheriff Ben Espey of Nodaway County, Missouri.

Police would not say where in Kansas the baby was found but Espey added: "We feel really good about it. We're not going to confirm this 100 percent. ... It's about as good as we can get."
