Peyton Manning? Played one series. LaDainian? Didn't suit up. And honestly, even if they had, they needed to turn in stellar performances to save the Pretty Birds, 'cause they got smoked, 147-76. Birds' high scorers were Corey Dillon and Reggie Wayne with 15 each. Woot.

I want to gripe about the saving-players-for-playoffs phenomenon and how much it kicked me in the teeth this year -- 'cause it did and I don't know of a good way around it (why penalize a team for having a player who makes the playoffs?). I know there's nothing good that can come of it, but had the margin been closer and I a little more neurotic (!), I might've become even more unbearable....

Still, 'twas a good performance by the Birds, and I'm quite happy with how they did. Hell, I was thrilled to make the playoffs. Bless you, Manning the Elder.

Now on to rooting for the Bolts in the playoffs. Huh. Haven't said that in a long time.
