Promising news: Fox is also seeing some promising numbers for the medical drama "House," seen by more people last week than the more-heralded "24." Oh, I do so want this show to succeed. Between this and "Arrested Development" -- if a piece of unbridled excrement like "Becker" can last long enough to somehow be syndicated and run twice in the 9:00 hour on our local Fox atrocity station, please, God, let there be a place for good television, too. But I still remember, Fox, how you took "Firefly" from me, so I do hope and I do have faith but I'm reloading anyway.
That said -- ah, the joy of "House." Solid continuity from last week: "Greg." Lisa Edelstein giving a little more dimension to her role instead of shrill antagonistic administrator (moreso last week than this). Robert Sean Leonard -- who I've never really liked -- becoming a bigger presence and doing something with it...he's a great foil for Laurie. And plenty of honk-out-loud moments. Next week, though, looks to be a barrel of Vicodin-popping monkeys. Glee.

My mom last week: "Why do they call it House?"
Me: "'Cause that's the doctor's name."
Her: "Oh, I thought it was a home improvement show..."
Me: *snerk*
