That monkeyshpere thing's really true. We get more bent out of shape when some toddler down the street falls down a well than when a tsunami kills hundreds of thousands on the other side of the world.

And every time I try to tell myself that humans are somehow superior to monkeys, I get to a four-way stop and either watch someone who doesn't know right-of-way or who just plows through it and I know that a monkey would do a better job of driving....
