The Best of Still Journalism 2005. Also, the best typical photog cutlines. You will find "intertube" instead of "inner tube," "hurst" instead of "hearse," and at least one mangling of "its" and its permutations. I'm not surprised -- it's been my experience that even professional photogs have a detachment and occasionally even hostile relationship with style and sometimes even the English language -- but I'm disappointed that a site showcasing the best in photography doesn't have someone editing for even basic style. (Scary possibility: they do, and all of this has been edited. Gulp.)
Still, no doubt in my mind that this is the most compelling photo and story in the bunch. Whoa. Though this one is cool and this one amuses me (ooo, this one too).
Edit: I got'cher brownie points right here.

Huh. I don't pretend to understand it, okay?
