I think it's "Glamour Shots" for overpossessive and overaffluent and possibly myopic parents.

Yeah, I'm thinking that maybe they can't see the level of detail that's now missing from their Photoshopped-into-oblivion children. Otherwise they'd be freaking out about their soulless faces and vacant eyes. Maybe they need the faces abstracted to the point where they can recognize them....

These remind me of the postcard photos of dead children that used to be a staple for the traveling photographer, back in the frontier and early settlement days. Sometimes the body had been stored for a time specifically to be able to get a picture, and it showed in the pale, extra smooth, unmoving features with large sunked (closed) eyes.

The difference is, I can understand the parents of 100 years ago wanting some small tangible souvenir. The people who pay for these I can't understand at all.

yuck! They look like Barbies with all the personality removed.

I actually thought they were Barbies, or some sort of weird collectible doll, at first. I wasn't completely sure they were live people until I looked at the makeup page.

"Please make sure your child's face is completely free of makeup and debris." WTF?

Oh lord, save me from their dead-eyed stares.
Poor kids. This is why there should be tests given to people before they're allowed to have kids.

Question one: Do you think beauty pageants for little girls are a good idea?
If you answered yes, swallow the blue pill. By the time you wake up, your ovaries will be on their way to someone who deserves them.
