Discovery's away. And I was worried that I was losing my space-geek cred, but watching the launch on TV was...thrilling, really. And to see from the cameras placed on the main tank...wow. The shuttle/tank separation -- breathtaking. Whew.
Well, be happy...there are two or three tropical waves in the Atlantic that look like they might get their shit together.... *sigh*
I was so hoping the shuttle would go up on a weekend so I could go see it at Cape Canaveral. And while seeing it land might be nifty, it's supposed to land at 5:45 on a Sunday morning. That time only comes once a day in my world, so there's no way in hell I'm gonna go see it. Especially factoring in the two-hour drive. But maybe I'll still be around Florida when the next one goes up in September. I hope not, though...
