France surrenders

If you're like me and don't really care about soccer-slash-football, you may have missed one of the greatest moments in sports history today during the World Cup championship between France and Italy.

Tied 1-1 in overtime, the French star Zidane shows his displeasure with an Italian player thusly:



Zidane gets red-carded and ushered off the pitch (I'm sorry, "field"). Italy wins in a shootout. (YouTube clips -- first is better quality, the latter worth it to hear the announcers pleading, "Et pourquoi? Et pourquoi?")

As the wondrous lizzyrose89 put it: whisky tango foxtrot?
