The first football player gets arrested before the semester even starts. They're starting early this year.
Kansas State senior tight end Rashaad Norwood was arrested early Sunday morning in Manhattan on multiple charges stemming from a domestic incident, including battery and criminal damage to property.
According to a Riley County police report, Norwood, 22, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Sunday near his apartment. In addition to battery and criminal damage to property, Norwood also was charged with criminal trespass and obstructing the legal process.
Bail was set at $3,000 for the criminal trespass charge and $2,000 for the battery charge.
Norwood, a product of Kansas City Schlagle, started 10 games last season for the 7-6 Wildcats. He finished second on the team with 36 catches for 358 yards.
Not quite a "drop the chalupa" moment, but not bad for preseason.
