Juno gets noms (not OM NOM NOM NOMs) for Best Picture, Actress. w00ts for Ellen Page. And Cate Blanchett for playing Bob Dylan. And Tilda Swinton.

I don't see how Atonement doesn't win its nominations, though; it's an Oscar Movie™ if there was one.

The Best Actor category is an embarrassment of riches: Day-Lewis, Clooney, Depp, Jones and Mortensen. Not a bad pick in the bunch.

Eh. It's...it's not bad.

I think the CNN headline to this story leaves a bit to be desired: "WRTV: Police: 11-month old was legally drunk" -- actually, I doubt an 11-month-old can be legally drunk, but yeah, we know what they meant. The actual story headline, "Mom, Fiancee Say They Didn't Give 11-Month-Old Booze" is at least more technically accurate, though the subhead should be something like "But They So Totally Did."

The story is typical Americana; the mugshots are priceless, though.

So CNN dedicated a bit of its lead package yesterday to the idea that black female voters face a unique quandary about whether to vote for the black candidate or the female candidate. Bad form. Five hundred points from Hufflepuff.

But then they posted a story about the resultant deserved backlash for being so superficial and condescending, including an e-mailer named Tiffany who puts it thusly: "Duh, I'm a black woman and here I am at the voting booth. Duh, since I'm illiterate I'll pull down the lever for someone. Hm... Well, he black so I may vote for him... oh wait she a woman I may vote for her... What Ise gon' do? Oh lordy!"

Okay, 200 points for posting that story, but you're still in the hole.
