Juno gets noms (not OM NOM NOM NOMs) for Best Picture, Actress. w00ts for Ellen Page. And Cate Blanchett for playing Bob Dylan. And Tilda Swinton.

I don't see how Atonement doesn't win its nominations, though; it's an Oscar Movie™ if there was one.

The Best Actor category is an embarrassment of riches: Day-Lewis, Clooney, Depp, Jones and Mortensen. Not a bad pick in the bunch.

Eh. It's...it's not bad.

And, as usual, I didn't see any of the Best Picture noms. The only thing I saw that got any "major" noms was Sweeney Todd, in fact.

The only one of the Best Picture noms I even want to see is Juno, and maybe Michael Clayton. Not big on moody period pieces and while I'm sure it's lovely and well-crafted, No Country is similarly not my bag.

I will say that Ratatouille is an easy winner in its categories, though, and rightfully so.

I am boggled that Surf's Up even got a nom. It wasn't THAT bad a year for animation, was it? OTOH, I wouldn't mind seeing Persopolis once it comes out on DVD (I was tempted by the TPB the other day).
