This morning, crows. Dozens if not hundreds. Cawwing. Neighbor: "It's like Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds -- is this normal for Kansas?" Ma'am, you're assuming there is a normal for Kansas. Our daily weather patterns are straight out of a D20 roleplaying random weather generator table, our people range the gamut from the mindbogglingly brilliant to the most cretinous mouthbreathers who schlorped their way from the primordial soup -- there is no normal here.

I love how, amid the Katrina calamity, the N'Awlins Saints could've become the new "America's Team," but despite the newfound goodwill toward the team, the owner seems hell-bent on moving them to San Antonio (managing to stay quiet to avoid breaking league rules that forbid discussing moving a team mid-season) and also has taken to beating up the media. Just die.

New SCOTUS nominee. This one's actually a judge. Already a quantum leap.

Yes, I rooted for the Bolts, to keep them in the running, and yes, I felt a little guilty. Get better, Priest. The Vikings need you.

Dude, Brett Favre is a class act, even -- no, especially in defeat. You are not. Die.

Hallomeme third most popular blog link yesterday, behind Technocrati and How Much is Your Blog Worth? At one point yesterday 26,265 people had taken it. This is me agog. =:O Storage space: 187.04 MB used, 112.96 free. Traffic: 1433 MB used, 8567.08 MB free. Looks like I just might make it after all....

Edit: One of the instructors stopped by and talked to me for a second, and after talking to me immediately afterwards charged into her classroom and announced "I think the quote of the day is 'I'd feel better if I had more cough syrup,'" to which one of the girls in the class announced enthusiastically "I would!"

Reminds me of Brain Donors:

"Some day you'll have my children. In fact, they're out in the car if you want them."

Not only is Hallomeme the third most popular blog link, but your general php-nonsense page is the fourth most popular link. Add 'em together and you're #1...

From: [identity profile] sigma7.livejournal.com

Yeah, but I'm sure that's due to a link to it being appended to the end of party results, as there's really no other content on there at the moment....

W00t! Thanks for the p1mpage. I gots a posse in Mesopotamia!

You ROCK! I'd post my results for your meme, but because I have so few friends, it's not as amusing as it could be.

Well, you can always change your outfit until you get something particularly hysterical....

Or you could always cheat and invite 20-30 people, which'll just repeat amongst your flist and they'll show up multiple times. It's a feature, not a bug. Really.

I thought of you yesterday when the Birds was on.

Kudos to you on your brilliant Hallomeme!

Damn, now I want cough syrup. :)

I called the doc and actually got some.

Life. Is. Good.

"Our daily weather patterns are straight out of a D20 roleplaying random weather generator table,"

This is made me laugh out loud. :)

Before Kansas, I lived in Maine. Say what you will, it was at least predictable, if occasionally vicious. I remember going to school in -100 wind chills....

But Kansas is just in that climate that can be virtually anything and tends to bounce from one extreme to the next with no segue. Heat wave, blizzard, flood, you name it....

From: [identity profile] kitblonde.livejournal.com

Yeah, c bunch of people on my friends page have taken it, and I didn't even post my results on mine yet, so they got it from somewhere else. And I didn't even register it until right before I read that post. And I felt like I was almost brushed by internet celebrity - "Hey, Hallomeme? I *know* that guy! Um, sorta."
So yay. You've made me cooler by association. (And it's a damn fine meme.)

Loved the D20 reference. Never played the game, but some of my friends in college did. Listened to them enough to catch some references. Have you seen Boots of Escaping from Reno 911 (http://gorillamask.net/bootsofescaping.shtml)?

I read somewhere that there is a possibility of moving the 'Aints to Los Angeles.

Caught stuff on the football guy on local news. What an ass. On the other hand, the Bungles aren't doing too bad. The same can't be said of the Raptors. They gave up 170 points this weekend. Sure I have two tight ends and a defensive player in tonight's game, but they're not going to score 70 points.

Congrats on the meme. That is cool.

I confess to never having played tabletop D&D. GURPS, sure, and a little DC Heroes back in the day, but never vanilla D&D.

And while I couldn't get the link to load, I'm not sure that I saw that scene on the show -- I did see a pretty good bit with the guy from "King of Queens" getting maced, though. I enjoy that show, and am slightly disappointed in myself because of that....

I did hear that Benson plans on moving the Aints to Santonio, then eventually migrate to LA, though the league's not big on this -- if LA's going to have a team, the NFL would like it to not be so much of a suck-fest. But I have little doubt that Benson will eventually get his way, screwing the community that bent over backwards for him, but it's refreshing that the NFL seems to see him for the type of owner he is....

Dude, the Raptors had a great game. Aircap just racked up an inhuman number, thank you Antonio Gates. This was just one of those weeks there's no planning for....

From: [identity profile] bishop282.livejournal.com

The boots of escaping scene is with Patton Oswald of "King of Queens", but he gets shot instead of maced.

My Monday night guys ended up not doing so bad and I got a nice score. Hopefully I can repeat when I go up against the mighty 'birds. Both of my QBs have bye weeks next week. Crap. So I picked up Mark Brunell for the week. A week or so ago a bunch of my guys had bye weeks and they were from three different teams. That sucks when trying to put together a starting lineup.

I'm not at all surprised your meme is so popular. You just plain did a fabulous job on it and created something genuinely hilarious with a personal touch. 50 points to...whatever the heck your House is.

From: [identity profile] sigma7.livejournal.com

HA! Aww, thanks. That'd probably be Dr. Gregory House (whom I almost went as for Halloween, but I forgot and shaved)....

(Actually, I think I'm a Ravenclaw, according to one of the quizzes that bounced about a while back. But in my mind the distinctions are all a little fuzzy still....)
