Anybody care enough to keep reloading the Collegian and see if they ever update it for today? Not I. Seeing the lackadasical and half-assed approach they take (not to mention that the insipid level of the content is swiftly reaching critical mass) just breaks my heart. If only I'd known, I could've done a quarter-assed job of it back in my day. It almost makes me want to go downstairs and yell at someone. But that's a whole flight of stairs.

I assume it's supposed to be a daily paper, and you're complaining that they still have yesterday's stories and front page up?

(Valpo's campus newspaper wasn't/isn't a daily, so I don't automatically assume that.)

That's the theory. Of course, they've had server problems (images never loading, or right now, veeeery sloooowly), content problems (images not uploaded to the server), technical ignorance problems (like line breaks), terminal insipidy (too many to count, but best exemplified by this front-page lead story), failure to prioritize news (a story about a serial rapist in Manhattan managed not to make it onto the online front page in lieu of vapid but graphic-accompanied pieces), and various crimes against humanity and multi-celled animals. I'm cataloging.

Of course, at the stroke of 9 our time, it appears. Not that there's anything really new. Or, at the moment, images.

Wow. Front page of the Metro or Q section of the Trib on a slow news week? Maybe. But that shouldn't take up 50% of the real estate on a front page of an entire paper.

Almost noon and no images uploaded. I ran into one of the professors in the hall today and he shared my assessment of the Collegian's state (and former glory) in extremely colorful terms. It satisfied me somewhat that at least others recognize that there's Something Wrong Here.
