David Letterman. Bill O'Reilly. I less-than-three Letterman.

Letterman normally tries to make the guest look as good and entertaining as possible. But he greeted FNC’s Bill O’Reilly with disdain. When O’Reilly urged an end to tagging Bush as a “liar,” scolded Cindy Sheehan for calling the insurgents “freedom fighters” and urged people to be “very careful with what we say" in disparaging others, Letterman took him to task: "Well, and you should be very careful with what you say also." Letterman demanded: "How can you possibly take exception with the motivation and the position of someone like Cindy Sheehan?" And he tried to discredit O’Reilly’s contention: “Have you lost family members in armed conflict?" When O'Reilly conceded that "no, I have not," Letterman castigated him: "Well, then you can hardly speak for her, can you?"

God bless anyone who attacks the FNC people.

Caught the tail end of that last night while flipping around. What an ass Letterman was. "How can you possibly take exception with ... the position of .. Cindy Sheehan?" Simple. She is an anti-Semite and supports the people who killed her son, calling them freedom fighters. She displayed her lack of seriousness when she called for an end to the military occupation of New Orleans during Katrina.

Ace sums up Letterman nicely here (http://ace.mu.nu/archives/149348.php), "Forget it, Dave. Jon Stewart may not be very funny, but no one's paying attention to you anymore, and emulating his lefty politics aren't going to make you must-watch TV again.".

What? Where in the world did you hear she's an anti-Semite? I've heard nothing about that.

When she claimed (http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2005/08/22/the_cindy_sheehan_you_dont_know/) that reason for the war in Iraq was because of the Jooooos, "Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC [Project for the New American Century, a neoconservative think thank] Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the army to protect America, not Israel." This was welcome news to fellow travelers (http://www.davidduke.com/index.php?p=350). Although she says (http://www.slate.com/id/2124788/sidebar/2124791/) those words were added, it doesn't look that way.

Interesting. Thanks for the links. I do tend to doubt the reliability of anyone who uses Michael Moore as an adjective to describe the left, but I trust the Globe as a source.

That said, O'Reilly's a piece of crap and I don't think for a second that he wouldn't have slammed Sheehan regardless for not bowing down before His Bushness.

When did attacking Israel become anti-Semitic? Is it possible to be critical of Israel without being call anti-Semitic?
