...oh, my side hurts, either from the laughing or the coughing, I can't tell which anymore, as I'm suddenly doing a lot of both.
The Kansas Legislature dismissed last week without passing a funding bill for schools, despite a court ruling that schools were unconstitutionally underfunded and the Legislature had until July 1 to fix the funding. They didn't (spending much of their time trying to pass a constitutional amendment against gay marriage). So today that judge ordered all public schools in Kansas closed.
I think this is possibly the greatest thing to happen ever.

OMG
Why can't we do schooling correctly in Kansas? The entire nation laughs at us every time we do anything education-related. Rarg.
It IS hilarious though. They're right to laugh. It is one of the greatest things I have heard lately, certainly.
Someone needs to do some sort of a lampoon that draws parallels between the Iraq situation and our school system in Kansas. The legislature is Iraq's previous administration, the judge is the United States, the budget...what, would it be a weapon of mass destruction? I'm losing myself here, but I think someone with a better grasp of the situation and a better-functioning brain could really make it funny. Hint, hint, Sig...
