ESPN's technical difficulties spilled over to an unfortunate outburst on ESPNews. I hadn't seen that particular anchor before, and I'm not sure I'll see her again anytime soon.

...wow. She'll never see a live mic/camera ever again.

It wasn't just the expletive, she SUCKED.

Yeah, if you're gonna come apart at the seams on worldwide TV, at least do it entertainingly...like Charley Steiner. His reaction to the Carl Lewis national anthem -- and Jack Edwards's reaction to his reaction -- is probably the single greatest moment on television ever.

Hence the reason why I was never compelled to become a broadcast journalist.

It seemed like she was extremely nervous to be on the camera. Maybe she was a last minute shoehorn-in.

And maybe she didn't realize her mic was on during the time the camera was off her. Seems a bit of a stretch, but honestly...otherwise she's just profoundly stupid.

Eh, for a while it's a pretty stale series of "Where's the videotape?" moments with befuddled anchors, but once the clips start rolling one of the anchors is doing play-by-play and the other -- and even if her mike wasn't live, she's in a studio and three feet from another mike and really should know better -- lets roar with a "What the FUCK was that?"

Even sadder is that there's no real sign of what triggered the outburst. It wasn't anything obvious on-air, so...I dunno.
