Congrats to the gang from River City as the Shockers knock off #2 Tennessee 80-73 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. This, I think, is worth breaking out the WSU hockey jersey for.

I knew the smaller conferences would get some attention just after the first round, but this...this is awesome. Represent!

Yeah, but assuming UNC beats George Mason tomorrow, I'll have to be rooting against Wichita in the next round.

...I don't suppose the fact that you can root for Wichita State with a clear conscience is any relief at the moment, is it?

I just can't think of George Mason without thinking of Xander Berkeley.

I....I can't even begin to describe this. Putting the smack down on a Big East team, then turning around and gutting it out (against a hostile crowd) against the SEC East Champions. Now we get to back in the glow for six days.

I'd love to get a rematch against George Mason, because getting a mid-major in the Elite 8 would be cool, and because their fans have been really supportive of us (and us of them) since the Nantz/Packer assault.

But getting a shot at UNC and RoyBoy ... especially after Roy got us investigated after we beat KU the last time ... that would be ... nice.

Being a mid-major alum ... it's like you don't know if you'll ever see your team back in the NCAA, and if they are, you're just happy that they're there. Well take that joy and multiply it by about 1,000 and that's where we are right now. We got called out by the national media, and our team is telling them where to stick it.

And Fark is finally starting to pick up on the fact that we're the Shockers. Better late than never.

College Humor had a clipping from the SIU newspaper chastising Shocker fans for displaying the "shocker" on ESPN. Therefore, I assumed they knew that was our mascot. Today, they post a picture of a WSU cheerleader and have to update the caption saying they just figured it out, "Wichita State second round shocker. (UPDATE: did you know that Wichita's team name was The Shockers? Because I didn't when I originally captioned this picture) (http://www.collegehumor.com/pictures/1674373/)".
