Next, many many many thank-ewes tokauricat for getting up at 3 a.m. in an attempt to rescue me from work. Glad it didn't have to go down that way. I blame the Burger King napkins for fiendishly hiding my keys. It's moments like this that shatter the illusion that I'm smarter than a banana slug.
Now, before the NyQuil sets in, quick rundown of Doctor Day. First it was a jaunt (45 minutes) to the dentist to confirm that I'm doing much much better than I was three months ago. It doesn't mean I don't have to have surgery, just that everything else is going super. That's the good news. The not-good news came from my third visit to my GP to figure out why I'm coughing. Two antibiotics and two bottles of Tussinex (it's like half a Percocet in a bottle -- you may keep coughing, but you don't much care, and everything feels nice and fuzzy-tingly) and three weeks later, no idea. Her theory is that the infection's gone, but the chest is taking its good sweet time in clearing out. Mm. Okay. Maybe. But just in case, I got to go in for a chest x-ray series. Whoop. If I get a phone call from her and it begins "...Have you ever seen the movie 'Alien?'" then I'm just going to go lie down.
Which doesn't sound like a bad idea anyway.

Sorry you're still coughing up a storm. I hope that will pass soon. Or maybe we should just hang you upside down and hit you with wooden paddles. Yeah, let's try that before we give up. ;)
