Have you ever worried that fanfic would become institutional in literature? To the point where its works would be referenced and lauded? Say, where state names would come from fanfic? Or fanfic would win a Pulitzer?

Mind you, none of this excuses Monk slash (no link: shudder).

Monk slash? Like Adrien Monk and the Captain!? Or like Silas from DaVinci code and Adrien Monk? OMG MONK + MONK = OTP

...Yes. And it hurts my brainmeats.

Okay, now you're just enjoying slash ironically. I hope. Right...?

Yes yes. When I read it at first, I thought you meant monks like monk monks. Like that line in Rasputin where he tells the daughters of the czar that he came across "two monks, naked as nature, one behind the other--"

And then, of course, Daddy Czar Ian McKellen interrupted him.

My disinterest in slash aside, Sir Ian can do whatever the hell he wants; he can do X3 as a one-man show. Hell, that might actually be an improvement....

That said, I'll spare you a link to the comm with the Adrian/Captain sketches, because it's dangerous to the squishy squishy brainmeatses, it is. But if you go poking around, randomly guessing community names, you'll find it pretty darn quickly.
