I can't really argue with the list of best/worst sci-fi TV show openings. Other than to be continuously impressed that someone else remembers Space: 1999, as I'm occasionally convinced I just hallucinated it.

Nitpicks: I'd put ST:TNG higher than DS9 and Voyager; later generation FX were superior, but not better than Patrick Stewart's monologue. And I agree with the rationale for putting BSG2 in the bottom ten, but really, lose the spoilers and you've got a top-5 candidate, srsly.

Unrelated: sad yet not-randomly-generated headline du jour: Penguins die in crash, octopus uninjured. Puir wee things.

I was wondering if you think you might want to come over for dinner before school starts?

Re: invite

Sure, would love to see the new place. Isn't it great to have somewhere all your own?

I remember Space 1999, my favorite SF show of my youth. I really need to make myself a icon for that one.

Thanks for findings this. I, like the author, enjoyed the little extras in the DS9 opening; the construction workers, spacecraft activity, etc. Also, I liked the reflection of Voyager in the planet's rings during Voyager's opening.
