Because I brought it up to
beeform today:
In Norse mythology, Ratatoskr (drilling tooth, sometimes Anglicized Ratatosk) is a squirrel who runs up and down with messages in the world tree Yggdrasill and spreads gossip. In particular he ferried insults between the eagle at the top of Yggdrasill, and the dragon Níðhöggr beneath its roots.
If there's anything more awesome than the idea of the world tree, it's that the world tree has a squirl.

In some ways, Ratatosk is doing his bit to stave off the end of the world. Any time Nidhogg spends trading insults by proxy is NOT spent gnawing on Yggdrasil's roots.
